Invitations to our Film Premiere

As well as designing our film magazine cover, I am also designing our invitations to the Film Premiere which will be happening next week. I have found an old fashioned cinema ticket template that I like and I am going to use that but add in my own text as well as putting our horror film poster on it. I am thinking to use the same colours that are featured in our horror poster, magazine cover and trailer so there is a nice continuity and similarity between the four. These colours are; red, black and white.

'CHAINed Souls'

I saw on the cover of another Empire magazine, the use of a chain on the front cover and I think the effect could potentially work really well, so I have found a chain ring on Google Images and I am playing around with the chain on Photoshop to see if it could work. The chained ring could also work well with the title of our film ‘chained souls’.

Final Girl Photo Shoot Images

Here is a slideshow of images from today's photo shoot created on YouTube by me. Images were taken by myself and Ellesha Martin. With these images my group and I will come to a conclusive decision on what image we think will work best for the Empire Magazine cover, which I am currently creating.

Makeover Time

Images taken by Ellesha Martin, Makeup done by Asha Maria

Above are images from the Phototshoot today that we did with our Final Girl for our Empire magazine Cover, this photo shoot was much more successful as Shria brought the dress and the headband that she misplaced, so she now looked the part and we had better lightning.

Empire Magazine Cover Stage 04/02/2014

Empire Magazine Cover
This is the stage I am currently at with our magazine cover, I have a lot of editing yet to do. For example the background and some of the blemishes on the model as well as sharpen the main image so that my model can portray a strong ‘Final Girl’ look. Some of the fonts will also have to be changed as they appear unreadable and tomorrow I need to add in several subheadings so that our magazine cover actually looks like a real magazine cover so I keep referencing to several different Empire magazine below are some of the Empire magazine covers I have been inspired by).

2014 Horror Films

I have been researching into real media texts (horror films) that are coming out later this year in order to feature the names of these films to put on my magazine cover. As our film trailer will be coming out in the year 2014 it only makes sense, in order to make my magazine cover look more realistic that I research into real horror films that are sue to be coming out around the same time that are horror trailer will be out.

Sammi Shoot

Photo's taken by Asha Maria.
These are some of the images which I took on Friday for the magazine cover but these images are going to have to be taken again today as my model forgot to bring my dress in which she has been wearing in the majority of the shots we have taken for our trailer, so there needs to be connection between the poster, magazine and trailer. As there was only my mode and l to take the shots, it was harder to achieve the lightening which I needed whilst taking pictures. We are going to stick to close ups and mid shots when we retake the image for the magazine front cover.

Annabelle's Magazine Cover Photo Shoot

Last Friday Beth, Shira and I took images for our horror poster so I had to get in contact with Jozefina (Annabelle) so that we could set up a Photo shoot.

Final Girl Photo Shoot

Images, hair and makeup taken by Asha Maria.
Last week Friday I had to take some images of Final Girl ‘Sammi’ for the Empire magazine cover which I am currently working on now in Photoshop. I spent 20 minutes in hair and makeup in order to achieve a victimised look for our Final Girl.

Barcode

Having a barcode on your magazine is a key conventions for magazines that are not free, so I went on Google Images and found an appropriate barcode before copying and pasting it on to my magazine cover. Through researching a variety of Empire magazine I have found out that the pricing of the Empire magazine ranges from £3.00 to £5.00 so I just decided to make the price of our magazine for a total of £4.95.

Only a Few Days Left...

So far this week, I have designed a flatplan for my groups film poster as well as completing a flatplan for the magazine front cover which I have taken pictures for and started working on in Adobe PhotShop. Next week is the deadline for our horror film trailer, poster and magazine cover, so me and my group have a lot of work to do.
